HEIFER ETHIOPIA TO LAUNCH AYUTE ETHIOPIA CHALLENGE 2023: The competition will award youth with scalable tech-innovative ideas in Agriculture for Ethiopia, Africa.

Objective and Content: In 2021, Heifer launched the Agriculture, Technology Innovation (AYuTe) Africa Challenge, which aims to be one of the most ambitious agriculture competitions on the continent, envisioning to combine the power of the African youth with the many possibilities of emerging technologies to support smallholder farmers across Africa to grow their businesses and incomes. In 2022 the first edition of AYuTe Ethiopia was launched. Heifer now proudly announces the launch of the second AYuTe Ethiopia Challenge in 2023. Olivet Groups will lead the organization of the competition.
The objective of AYuTe Ethiopia Challenge, is to identify and award, winning Agri-Tech innovative ideas with the potential to address challenges of smallholder farmers in Ethiopia and improve production, productivity, income, access to finance and/or resilience.
Awards: A total award for the top-three winners will be $20,000: 1st=$10,000 |2nd= $6,500 | 3rd = $3,500
Who can apply? Citizens and residents of Ethiopia, between the age of 18-30 and with an innovative technological idea to improve agriculture in Ethiopia can apply. Panel of Judges: The panel of judges consist of five distinguished professionals from Addis Ababa Science and Technology University, Askamar Consulting, Conovation, & Entrepreneurship for Impact.
Application Period and Method: Applications are open from 15-30 May, 2023.
The launch event has taken place at Radisson Blu Hotel, in Kazanchis on May 12, 2023 at 10:00 AM in the presence of invited guests and Government office representatives.
